Medica, the world's leading medical trade fair, returns to Düsseldorf this November.
Regarded as the central hub of the worldwide medical trade, Medica has firmly established itself as a leading industry event showcasing current and future trends in in-patient and out-patient care.
Held at the Düsseldorf Fairgrounds from 14 – 17 November, it will feature almost 5,000 exhibitors from over 70 countries displaying their products and services across an exhibition area consisting of 19 halls, spanning nearly 1.3 million net square feet.
For more than 40 years Medica has gathered attendees from all areas of the medical industry, from general practitioners and nursing staff to specialized medical traders and laboratory managers.
The exhibitions showcase products across multiple categories, including electromedicine and medical technology, laboratory equipment, physiotherapy and orthopaedic technology, and diagnostics.
The event offers participants an excellent opportunity to gather and exchange information on new technologies and the way they are influencing the medical industry.
In addition to the professional trade fair, the Medica Conferences and Forums have become an integral part of the trade fair: five forums and several special conferences on varied medical-technological topics are presented in the halls to complement the trade fair activities.
Each individual conference day offers a specified thematic focus, beginning with 'New operative techniques during surgery' and moving on to focus on subjects such as innovations in the field of 3D laparoscopy.
Visitors to Medica this November will see first-hand what the digital future of the healthcare sector might look like through organised lectures and presentations, and via the exhibitors’ many innovations.
Events such as Medica provide an excellent source of new perspectives, new ideas, industry tips, insider trends and information.
With over 130,000 attendees and over 5,000 exhibitors, the industry networking potential is huge.
96% of 2015 attendees expressed extreme satisfaction with the business they achieved and the contacts they made through the event.
This November, OrthoConnections Matt Woods and Fiona Walters are heading to Düsseldorf with a specific interest in connecting with representatives showcasing innovative prosthetics, leading orthotics and state-of-the-art rehabilitative technology.
For OrthoConnections Director, Fiona, the emphasis is on making new connections.
We are focusing on meeting with exhibitors and visitors from the orthopaedic and spine industry with a view to promoting the concept of OrthoConnections.
It’s also a great chance for us to meet up with existing contacts and keep up to date with the market.
For OrthoConnections founder and director, Matt, the event provides an opportunity to widen the search parameters for current consultancy projects.
At this year’s event I will be focusing on sourcing orthopaedic distributors for several European Spine searches I am currently running.
I am also looking to meet manufacturers on behalf of an Italian client who is looking for an OEM opportunity.
This year’s Medica exhibitors and products are already available to browse on the Medica website so visitors can organise their schedule ahead of their trip and ensure they make the most of their time in Düsseldorf.
